What is NEET?

NEET is known as National Eligibility cum Entrance Test. NEET is an entry level test in order to take admission in medical courses in India. On the basis of NEET scores, students get admission in medical colleges of India. NEET was introduced in the year 2013, before it was known as AIPMT.

What are the Eligibility criteria for NEET 2021?

As per the exam conducting body NTA (National Testing Agency ) there are three parameters which students must fulfil, which are Educational qualification, Age limit & Reservation criteria.

So the candidate must pass the 12th exam with minimum 50% marks with the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Biology along with English. Whereas candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category must achieve minimum 40% marks to be eligible for NEET 2021. And the candidate must be minimum 17 years old at the time of taking admission after clearing NEET. Also the upper age limit for General category is 25 year and for ST/ST/OBC & PWD is exempted till 30 year old.

What is the NEET 2021 Exam date?

The notification about the NEET exam date is released by NTA and the exam will be held on 1 August 2021.

Can I do MBBS without giving NEET exam?

No, one has to appear for NEET exam and qualify it and after that only the medical colleges will allow you to take admission in India. And on the basis of your NEET score you can choose Public or Private University as per your convenience.

Can I do MBBS if I do not have a science background?

No, for taking admission in MBBS program the candidate should have qualified 12th exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Without these subjects you cannot appear for NEET.

Is MBBS & MD the same?

MBBS is an undergraduate program for 12th pass out medical students, whereas MD is Post-graduate program which can be taken only after completing the undergraduate or MBBS degree. But in some countries MBBS equivalent degree is called MD (Doctor of Medicine).

For how much time does the NEET score is valid?

What is the reservation policy in NEET?

For the 2021 NEET exam 10% seats are reserved for General Economically weaker sections, 15 % for SC, 7.5% for ST, & 27% for OBC. Students who fall under the category of PwD are offered 5% seats reservation.

Are there any minimum marks required in 12th result to appear for NEET?

Yes, the candidate belonging to General category must score minimum 50% marks in science stream, candidate belonging to SC/ST/OBC category require minimum 40% marks in order to appear for NEET exam.

What is NEET UG?

Can I appear for NEET if I am still in +2?

Earlier a candidate could only attempt NEET 3 times throughout their life, but as of 2020 this rule is changed and candidates can attempt as many times they can considering the upper age limit.

Is FMGE a medical entrance test?

No, FMGE stands for foreign medical graduate’s examination. It means that Indian citizens who studied MBBS from Abroad have to pass this Test in order to register with MCI/NMC and to practise as a doctor in India. This is a licensing test not an entrance test.
